We recently touched on Sen. Gerald Allen's bill now in the state legislature that would negate federal laws on guns and ammunition. At that time, the bill was unavailable to be read online, and we assumed it applied to new federal laws. Guess what? It applies to any federal law:
(4) The State of Alabama hereby declares that any and all federal acts, laws, orders, rules, and regulations related to firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition are a direct infringement on the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America and therefore are unconstitutional.
Would our legislature pass this? We would certainly hope not; however, if it should be passed, state taxpayers would be footing the bill to defend it.
On the bright side, just think of the tourists it would bring to our state. Visit Alabama - Buy Your Own Machine Gun Legally. Would this law cover Jewish space lasers? Who knows...after all, this is Alabama where laws are passed that no one reads or understands.
The Affordable Care Act: Where Americans were told Congress'...had to pass it so they could read it'.
ReplyDeleteAs far as 'buying a machine gun over the counter goes'; that is currently LEGAL to do in Alabama. One just has to pay a $200 tax, pass a rigorous background check, AND have THOUSANDS of $$$. An M16A1 runs around $40,000+.
Yet these guns are finite. They must have been manufactured before 1986. If this Alabama bill was passed, newly manufactured guns could theoretically be imported. Presumably, the price tag would be much lower.
DeleteIt is obvious you do not understand the Constitution and specifically the 2nd Amendment. It protects the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is a protection against the Federal government. It is a protection against a corrupt government. When the government becomes stronger than the citizens, it will be easier for the government to take control. We have a right to protect ourselves from this government. The purpose of the 2nd amendment is not to have guns to kill each other. It is to protect ourselves form the Government. we have laws to protect us from each other, we also need laws to protect us from the Government.
ReplyDeleteWe understand that currently, under FEDERAL law, these rights are limited. This bill, if passed, would do away with most of these limits.
DeleteThe Constitution doesn't tell 'We The People' what WE 'can and can't do'; it tells the GOVERNMENT 'what IT can and can't do'.
DeleteI believe the "Jewish Space Laser" BS originated with the legitimate, well-founded concerns regarding "DEW" Lasers (Directed Energy Weapon)being used by nefarious (govt) entities to burn wooded areas and personal properties in this country, causing Fear & Destruction. The DEWS have been around for quite some time and have little to do with the Jews.....unless Mossad is helping to fund the US's Pentagon Black Ops. (wouldn't be the first time...) Wake up, people - the Truth IS stranger than Fiction. Dew-Bi-Dew-Bi-Dew.......
