Talking Back to Rusty

On Thursday we published the following guest blog: A Little Advice from Rusty.

We have received the following from Mr. Brett Pittman, minister of Highland Park Baptist Church:

I am the pastor at Highland Park. Our student pastor’s wife was hired as a special education teacher in Russellville, not Muscle Shoals. My wife is the music teacher at Howell Graves preschool. She teaches 4 days a month and her pay is the daily substitute rate. Despite what this article says, she does have a degree in education from Athens State University and taught for several years in the Madison County School System. To insinuate that she does not have a degree is completely untrue. 

We are always happy to publish rebuttals and corrections. Several have asked us why we have published nothing from the "Yes" supporters of the tax vote. Our answer is simple - we have received nothing from anyone supporting the tax. 

Again, apologies to Mr. Pittman for any misinformation concerning teachers in the Muscle Shoals system.
