He wasn't looking for dinner. He wasn't engaging in target practice. He, like a certain ex-Muscle Shoals baseball coach, just wanted to kill something. What the Lawrence County, Alabama, shooter killed was a protected bald eagle.
Authorities near Mt. Hope found the shotgun pellet riddled body of the bald eagle on December 8th. So far, the miscreant has escaped detection, but that may change. This week the reward for the thug's identity was upped to $15,000.00.
Not only will the informant get a nice chunk of change, the shooter can expect a $100K fine and a year in federal prison. (Only a year? That penalty needs to be upped considerably.)
If you have any information, call the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service Special Agent Brad Rabalais at 601-331-0292 or the Alabama Game Watch Hotline at 1-800-272-4263.
It takes a special kind of DUMB ASS to do something like that.
