City of Sheffield, Just Where Are You?

The City of Sheffield wants you to know it cares about you and your concerns. It's even published a survey to find out what Sheffield citizens want most. After all, it's not like the government even suspects pothole free streets are the top priority, followed closely by regular trash collection. Here's the survey information:

The City of Sheffield is working with the Northwest Council of Local Governments (NACOLG) and their partners to develop a new Comprehensive Master Plan for the City. A critical element of the planning process is public input and participation. An initial effort toward that purpose is a survey we invite every resident and interested non-residents to complete. The survey can be accessed by scanning the QR code or at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/qr_code/SheffieldPlanSurvey.

The new plan that results from this process will include a vision for actions that will guide Sheffield's future development. We will examine our strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities. The plan will be a roadmap for how we can optimize our assets and overcome our deficiencies to enable Sheffield to reach its potential.

There will be multiple opportunities for the public to participate in the process and provide input. In addition to the plan, we will examine our branding and how Sheffield can best be portrayed to the world. This will rely heavily on local input and critique.

We also intend to develop a wayfinding system for the city. Current signage is inadequate and doesn't effectively guide visitors to our many attractions and points of interest.
Following is an initial timeline for the project including public meetings that anyone can attend. Exact dates and times will be published as they are established.

When you take the survey, you may notice it's copied from one originally written for the City of Enterprise. Yes, someone didn't care even enough to change out the names in every section.

That's not all. Did you notice all those questions about Inspiration Landing? No, neither did we. Does that mean Sheffield doesn't care what you think about the future of IL? Or could it possibly mean there is no future for IL in Sheffield? Think about it...
