To connect the dots for newcomers, Dick Jordan is the president of the Florence City Council, and his wife Libby is the director of Florence museums. Perhaps the oldest entity in the museum system is Pope's Tavern; it's managed by the controversial Brian Murphy who once publicly ridiculed Florence activist David Carson. Still with us?

Now Carson, a regular city council critic, has appeared before the council to question continued extra funding for the Hermitage Drive museum beyond its regular budget. Think what you will of Carson (and we're not a fan of his style of activism), he has a very valid point:
