Saga of Trail of Tears Continues/Traffic School

Just when you thought it was safe to breathe easy for Waterloo, it seems the tourism board is not considering donating the usual 5K to the small eastern Lauderdale town. In fact, the board contends that they never saw Waterloo's two requests for funding and don't know who received them.

The board also made a point of stating the 5K appropriation had been awarded for only the past three or four years. According to them, only $500.00 was issued to the town to help with the event previous to that.

Final verdict? Waterloo will get a whopping 1K donation this year. Now the town will have to scramble for funding or put the city in debt. If the board wanted Waterloo out of the picture, they couldn't have done more to make it happen. Hmmmm?
