Twenty-three Alabama District Attorneys signed a letter to the legislature opposing the legalization of medical marijuana, a bill introduced by Florence's Tim Melson. That's approximately half.
If any of these 23, including Colbert County's Bryce Graham, should be hospitalized for a serious accident or surgery, we're sure that these same personal convictions will prevent them from accepting morphine. After all, morphine comes from the same poppy plant as does opium and heroin, just as medical marijuana is derived from the same plant as the illegal street version.
What was the biggest lie in the DAs' letter? Try this one: The bill moves “marijuana research out of the hands of respected scientists at institutions of higher learning and into the hands of convenience store clerks.” If there is any way Dr. Tim Melson can sue these nefarious individuals, we sincerely hope he does.
Now think about this: If Bryce Graham would sign off on such a piece of garbage, do you think he just might take the same attitude with Colbert County legal cases? In other words, when your brother-in-law gets drunk and takes a baseball bat to his ex's new sports car, would Bryce Graham see this as an opportunity to up the charge to attempted murder?
Judging from his approval of the falsehoods in the district attorneys' letter, we wouldn't be surprised by any lies Bryce Graham might tell...
