A reader continues his story:

 

 

I want to make myself clear as I write about the sins of NW-SCC, because some people I hear are laughing about the last post. Saying nothing will come of it as this isn’t a real news site. Well Good Dr., Flower and The Politician it’s not over. I’m not done and others will come out to speak against you. I’m calling out Montgomery to investigate NW-SCC. I want the Governor, the Board of Trustees, and the Chancellor to hear everyone’s stories. I want the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) come and look into your instructor hiring practices. Now onto the story and just so you all know I’ll give you a Politician story another day and time so stay tuned.

A long long time ago there was a Queen and she was just a normal teacher (I believe or an assistant) at NW-SCC. Many would say she was a nice lady. Almost everyone spoke highly of her. Then came a time when we all started hearing rumors. Rumors that The Queen was either covering up The Flower's and The Good Dr's. behavior, or perhaps her own with The Good Dr., all this to become an administrator at NW-SCC. The rumor involved them creating a new administrator position for her. Now anyone who heard this refused to believe it. After all he was and is old enough to be her dad and she came across nice. But a few kept of saying it would happen. 

 

Then one day after a few months, there was a job posting for a new administrator position. Why? Well no one knows. Still no one can tell you what her job really is. There were many people more qualified for the position when it was posted, but again NW-SCC is good at taking care of friends. Now we may never know what really happened between them however where there is fire there is smoke. Some will say we shouldn’t worry about what happened here however ethics isn’t blind.

NW-SCC has promoted many of their friends to new job titles and a lot better pay. There have been some getting a pay raise that’s larger than many of the people working there make for the whole year. They create a new job and post it with their friend’s experiences as the requirements and guess who gets the job? That one is easy to figure out. Then the best part is most of these people get to hire assistants and have them do the work for them, more on that another time.

There are good people working there. They work hard every day and are under paid. They sometimes get a chance to get promoted and to earn a little more money. Maybe they go back to school and get a degree. From what I’ve seen it can sometimes get them a small promotion. But most of them will never get a real promotion. 

There are also some great teachers there. I had many during my time there. They cared and tried for their students. But again their voices are crushed because you either do as they want or you will be let go. Yes they can shut up and get tenured but again don’t anger the people in charge or you will be punished. Punishment comes in many different ways. There is a reason people are scared to speak up.

Ethics is clear and easy to understand. We cannot hire our unqualified friends and/or give promotions to friends. We cannot have sex to get a better job, nor over look administrators having sex to get a better job. So when will people stand up to end this? When will someone come investigate these issues that are real? Ask the hardworking people who go to work there about these stories. NW-SCC isn’t new to corruption or scandals. 

 

The people are scared to speak out. This community deserves a school that has the best instructors, administrators, and staff around. This is a community college. It is supposed to be for the community. The school's only goal should be to get these students the skills they need for life or help them move onto to achieve an advanced degree. NW-SCC is a cesspool with the good people being ran off or breaking to keep their jobs. It is up to the community to stand now. Our children, spouses, friends and family go to school there. We cannot allow this anymore.

If you are one of the good people working there I’m sorry to you. You deserve better than what is going on now. Stand up and fight back. Tell your stories. Tell the people in Montgomery what’s going on. If you lose your job at least you fought for what’s right. Tell the Governor, the Board of Trustees, and the Chancellor your stories. Not speaking out and acting like it isn’t happening isn’t the right thing to do. That also is against the ethics laws. We have ethics laws for this reason. If you are afraid of retaliation send them the message anonymously. But help take back your school.

Apologies if we haven't yet posted an article you've sent in. Yes, a lot of surprises await. Or as some friends of ours told someone this afternoon, "You don't know what's coming."

 

We may be slow in posting some articles, but we did remove some clutter from our sidebar today. That's always a good thing to do. Doing the right thing can prevent such horrid repercussions.
