Sugarbakers to Close

Sugarbakers in Seven Points will close for good on June 24th. Once again Walmart will be the choice for many who need finger-foods for parties and business meetings.

And we still have some who hold out hope for an interstate highway connection...

Isn't progress wonderful? Who needs morphine when you have fentanyl?

Gag Order on Lawsuit against Sheffield Police

According to WAFF in Huntsville, a Colbert County judge has placed a gag order on courtroom proceedings in a lawsuit against the City of Sheffield, three officers, and assorted others related to a 2021 incident within the city. There are always three sides to any arrest; however, the lawsuit does nothing to create a good image for the home of Inspiration Landing.

Most of the incident in question is presented in the following clip. We are unfamiliar with this YouTube channel, which obviously shows only one side. Yet, it's good to remember this is how most of the world now sees the small Colbert County town:

Help with These Transports!

Yes, there are actually areas in the northern parts of the U.S. that are begging for adoptable animals. The problem is there isn't an easy, economical way to send our surplus of adoptable dogs and cats to these areas. This is where the public comes in.

If you want to make sure you get the most bang for your buck with your donations, here's the easiest way to make your dollars count. The Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services is doing all it can to help assist with these transports, but still more funds are needed.

From the FLAS:

We are saving as many animals as we can and we are trying to raise money to help send some of our cats and dogs to a rescue. We were able to send 28 cats and 16 dogs this last transport and would like to raise money to send just as many or more on future transports. This sweet girl Spooky is just one of the cats we are sending on this week's transport and we are sending dogs as well. If you'd like to help some of our amazing animals but can't foster or adopt you can donate money to our transports and be some of our cats and dogs heroes! We are hoping to raise 800 for this transport. If you would like to donate this is the link to our PayPal:

Sheffield: All Trash, No Pandas

Before we present some of the latest lovely photos of the home of Inspiration Landing, we've been asked why the City of Sheffield has not yet opened its only public pool. Perhaps it's a lack of funds? After all, it takes big bucks to keep up John Elkington's charade. Perhaps no money is left for such niceties as pools for those who can't afford to install one of their own?

Now, for some photos of a "new Sheffield dump" on Southwest 13th Avenue:

We would suggest a recycling program, but that would obviously take funding away from the vast sucking drain that is Inspiration Landing...

An Insider's View of the Florence Salvation Army

We are publishing this message word for word, with only some punctuation added:

It's about the salvation army: I don't know why no one has said anything but the salvation army has still not opened as everyone knows they are calling the police to people on property when there is apartments available in the back with literally nine beds. the reason the shelter is not open at the first of June as they promised was because they wanted to go on vacation first before they opened so they nitpicked everything the contractors did they were supposed to have clean up crew in there last week but they disappeared again fourth vacation since January,

I have a friend that works there. she is a really good woman she is new to the salvation army only been there for 8 months she has had nothing but problems with these Cap Watts. Their social worker retired and has not been to work since October but kept her on payroll until just last night with the new employee doing all of her job.

the HR and accountant the captain's and the receptionist all goes to lunch at least once a week on salvation army credit card and leaves the case manager and homeless manager in the office the whole time doesn't come back for hours and never ask these ladies to go. I have talked to them several times with everybody being out of office except leaving these two there to take up their slack and it happens often the homeless manager has over 200 hours of vacation because she has not been able to take it the whole time she has been there for the last 4 years because Mr Watts says she has to have every shift covered and someone to come in. if someone doesn't show up well she only has three employees and that leaves her with nothing or no time the case manager left a job of 9 years to go to the salvation army and she is treated so poorly something has got to be done.

I told them both to file a lawsuit for favoritism they cannot go to HR because she is best friends with them all they go on trips together and HR is never supposed to do that you should be able to confide in your HR but not at the salvation army they call the three girls the mean girls club. Captain Watts was going into church a few Sundays ago and a homeless man was sitting in front of the door he walked into the church and called him an idiot in front of everybody.

all the church members have quit. there is only four left not including them and their three children and of course George the maintenance guy whom they brought here who is screwing married store manager with five kids and the captains know about it and let it go on. he drives their vehicles after being caught with drugs and alcohol and I'm sure there main people would love to hear about that the homeless manager put him out and the captain's refused to let her drug test him or alcohol test him and she told them it was protocol.

the case manager told me that this has happened lots of times where embezzlement is involved and they bring a man from Texas with a serious charge and he is supposed to be the maintenance guy and they have him going in people's home which he shouldn't do because he is a felon for home invasion their main people does not know that and they should these captains are the absolute worst Florence Alabama has ever had. at least been and Wendy had a great hearts and was at least Christians these won't even pray with you they make fun of the homeless. they will not help anyone they even wrote the case manager up for giving too much money to a lady on her utilities with seven kids which was $500 to keep her lights on again she is having to do social workers job and doesn't even know the rules.

please expose these people so things will get better for the two ladies that are there for the right reason and not there for publicity.

Short takeaway: Almost any charity is better than the Salvation Army Church. They make the old-fashioned Moonies look good. Please consider where you donate!

Who Were Brian Elmo Schleter's Victims?

Pictured is Brian Elmo Schleter. He is a registered sex offender who until late last month was living just north of Florence. Then he was arrested, not only for possessing child pornography, but also producing it.

Schleter has been on the registry for 14 years after being convicted of sodomizing a 13 year old boy in Winston County, then serving five years in the state prison system. That means when everyone's favorite sex offender advocate tells you they don't re-offend...they do.

Since Schleter has been out of prison for over 14 years, there's a good chance his latest crimes were not his first since his release. Our question is: How many unknown victims does this deviant have?

Will Lauderdale County be able to get a conviction? Since the 43 year-old Schleter is already on the registry, that threat is meaningless. As a repeat offender, he should receive the maximum.

If you have information about Brian Schleter's illegal activities, please call the Lauderdale County District Attorney's office or One Place of the Shoals. Do not let this man go free to hurt more children.

If Only Tommy Could Read

According to Military.com

The percentage of women in the military who were sexually assaulted in 2021 spiked to the highest level since the Defense Department started tracking the statistic more than a decade ago, according to new data released Thursday.

About 8.4% of female troops and 1.5% of male troops said they were assaulted while on duty during the past calendar year, the department's annual 2021 report shows based on surveys of service members. That is about 35,900 total service members, compared to the previous high of 34,200 in 2006, when 6.8% of women were estimated to have been assaulted.

The above statistic is over one year old; however, it's safe to assume the numbers haven't changed that much. How many sexual assaults were actual rapes? How many rapes resulted in pregnancies?

Alabama's senior senator isn't happy about the U.S. military's position of paying for travel to facilitate induced abortion among its ranks. Isn't it good to know that Tommy cares about what happens in and out of military bedrooms and backrooms everywhere?

What is he basing his belief on? We would like chapter and verse. We would also like to know why Tommy isn't attempting to prevent these military rapes.

Speaking of chapter and verse, we'll be happy to send Tommy an audio of the New Testament and its prohibitions on divorce and remarriage. Did you ever wonder what happened to Tommy's first wife back in Arkansas? Shouldn't that little matter rule Tommy out as a supreme moral authority?

*****

For those who may not be regular readers of our blog, we do not support induced abortion as a form of birth control. Also, we have it on good authority that Arkansas has produced several geniuses over the years...unfortunately, Tommy isn't one of them.
