As for Brandon, he ...No, the thief was the poacher. As for Brandon, he was PI as soon as he left truck. The party? He left it three hours before. We don't think he would have come back if not drunk. Moyers deserved punishment, just not LWO. All our sympathy in the loss of your friend. BTW, the mother lives CLOSE to Smith Lake, not on it. About 200K difference.Shoalandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06516518190020271127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6105864577540212454.post-8411159775020836742015-05-23T04:32:58.326-05:002015-05-23T04:32:58.326-05:00"Moyers' victim was guilty of public into..."Moyers' victim was guilty of public intoxication, public lewdness, and attempting to destroy public property."

So, drinking on private property and riding as a passenger while intoxicated is a crime? It's not a crime unless he was the one driving. These are hardly acts to be "guilty" of in a court sense. The only thing Brandon did was have a good time with friends and left to head home. There was nothing "criminal" about this kid.

"Moyers certainly had some mental problems, but we did laugh at some testimony recently released from a bail hearing. Three male neighbors testified they had found Moyers' recent actions belligerent. One of those testifying was Bronwen Murray's father; he reported that the Belle Mina man had confronted a poacher."

I'm unsure what is funny about someone having a history of being an a-hole who intimidates people...poachers or not.

"While we would have called authorities on the thief and tried to have gotten a tag number, we doubt that it's too unusual in Limestone County for a rural-raised citizen to confront a thief. When worlds collide..."

1. Please explain to me how Brandon was a thief? Just because Joel Moyers suspected he was a thief doesn't make him a thief. It makes him a victim who was shot because someone thought it was okay to be judge, jury, and executioner. 2. If it wasn't too unusual, there would be more cases like this in Limestone County but there isn't. 3. The term "rural" is used when describing this area....it's 2 miles from I-565. That's hardly rural. On the edge of the countryside, maybe. But it's not like Brandon was deep into hillbilly land among uneducated people who didn't know any better. Moyers' own mother lives on Smith Lake...a place you live if you have a whole lot of money. A woman who had no problem at in paying his astronomical bail ...twice. Moyers wasn't a poor, uneducated bumpkin. He was a lazy a-hole who lived on one of the many properties owned by his mommy. He knew right from wrong, so stop trying to paint that sort of picture of him.

Also, I don't buy Moyer's assertion that he didn't recognize them and believed them to be thieves. Brandon drove by Moyer's house almost daily in a very recognizable truck and camped on the Murray's property nearly every weekend for the better part of a year. I have no doubt that Moyers recognized the truck when he spotlighted them. I think he was just pissed off that he was "disturbed" and wanted to flex his muscles, so to speak. Therefore, Ryan stopping so Brandon could say something wouldn't have made a difference. Moyers knew the truck and he made up his mind to go after them to make some point whether they stopped or not. Brandon knew enough about that man to request Ryan to keep going...knowing full-well that talking to him wouldn't have mattered.

Joshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11832496957899800525noreply@blogger.com
